We had a wonderful experience here.
First, to address a couple of the negative reviews: it's a shame that some people seem determined to find something to be upset about and then make it someone else's problem. Yes, the road up is a little bumpy, but our Toyota Auris rental car handled it just fine. It's really not an issue. And to the person who complained that there wasn't a pool...it's a former monastery. You clearly booked a property that didn't match what you were looking for. That's hardly a fair reason to leave a poor review.
If you're considering booking, do it. This place is genuinely special.
The rooms are clean, comfortable, and quiet. The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful. The upper terrace is the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee, and the view over Lake Ohrid is, without exaggeration, the best we found anywhere around the lake. Because the property faces west, the sunsets are absolutely spectacular.
What made our stay even more memorable, though, was Miki and Amil. They genuinely care about the experience of their guests. They are kind, generous, welcoming, and went out of their way to make us feel at home.
If you're looking for a peaceful, comfortable stay away from the bustle of Ohrid while still being just a short drive from town, this is your place.
