Very good for the money. Comfortable and clean room that was quiet and slept well. Fair walk into town but there was a bus stop up road with buses into town every few mins. No problem parking.

We stayed at Midway house for a three night break in April. The host was very knowledgeable and told us the best way to get into town, the bus and walking routes and where the tourist attractions were. He even provided a map, which was very helpful. Room and bathroom were very clean and tidy. Housekeeper emptied the bins and changed the cups, coffee and tea supplies daily. They also gave us clean towels during our break. Only criticism was the noisy stairs. They were very creaky and we could hear people coming and going. Would recommend this guest house, but not if you are a light sleeper.

I want to start with positives, the staff (not owners, they weren't on site) were lovely! Very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. There was lots of parking on site that we could use even before check in. The negatives... (staff were informed when leaving). 1st glance the room was clean with all amenities you could need. Once in room longer we noticed cobwebs, a broken window covered in tape, peeling wallpaper, mold and damp areas on wall and ceiling from an issue upstairs or the roof. Brown stains on a towel left for us to use. Mattress was old and very noisy with every small movement, we both ended up with bad backs due to the poor comfort of the bed. The bathroom had a light flickering that could of been sorted before we checked in, black mould on walls and in the shower, holes in wall where towel rail had been pulled off several times and not filled and painted. Generally the room needed some TLC. When i spoke to staff they said they were sorry and would forward feedback to owners, hopefully they will do something. Very sad as could of been lovely. Definitely not worth price we paid. Stayed a different place following night cheaper rate but 1000% better standard and quality. WILL NOT BE RETURNING!

Spent weekend 20-22/07/2024 for partners birthday for locality to York city centre place was very nice presented rooms ok food excellent and proprietor Paul was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area, would recommend this establishment 9/10

A trip to York

The property was in a great location that gave the opportunity to walk into the city or take a bus from outside the property. The property is on the is older but in great condition and the facilities were average for such a property. The staff were friendly and happy to share local knowledge along with their thoughts about venues to visit along with places to eat. We would use this property again as we like visiting York and the surrounding area

EXCELENTE ESTANCIA

Muy buen B&B. Annette e Ian son una excelentes anfitriones, preocupados en todo momento por hacer una placentera estancia a sus huéspedes. Alojamiento limpio, cuidado y tranquilo. La única pega puede estar en su ubicación, 145 Fulford Road, a unos 20/25 minutos del centro histórico de York, pero ésto tampoco es un problema ya que cuenta con una parada de bus en la puerta del B&B que te lleva allí cómodamente.

So happy we chose this place to stay in York. It’s our honeymoon trip and we enjoyed our time so much. Very welcoming and kind staff. Pretty and comfy room. Delicious and filling English breakfast. Lovely walk to the centre with an amazing river view along the way. There’s also a convenient regular bus stop just across the place. The price is also very reasonable. Will definitely come back and also recommend this place to our friends!

We have been there twice and found it friendly and convenient. The en-suite facilities are looking a little tired and the double bed does not compare to the beds in places like Premier Inn.

Great value Hotel

Great hotel, not far from city centre. Owner and breakfast staff were very friendly. Room was clean, warm, and had everything we needed, and if was quiet at night. Breakfast was very nice. Free onsite parking was one of the reasons for choosing this hotel. We would definitely stay there again.

Lovely Breakfast, cooked by a friendly, cheery Italian, fast check-in with a very knowledgeable host, whom we didn't see much but was friendly when we did.. Building quite an old one so no air-con, our room was quite compact with quite dated furniture, our bathroom was quite small with a very small shower.

Yes to York

Our stay was Very good , our room was ready earlier than we thought it would be. Ideal location for the races .On site parking . Our room was clean and everything we needed for our weekend . All staff were helpful with either general enquiries or helpful suggestions to enhance our stay Extra tea coffee milk etc was provided on each landing .Each morning we had a fabulous full English breakfast .We would stay there again .
