At check-in, the process was extremely slow and the employee seemed unfamiliar with the system. I understand that everyone has to learn, so I was patient and expected things to improve. However, the interaction quickly changed. The employee became increasingly condescending and snappy when we asked questions. What initially seemed like a pleasant interaction quickly turned into a very uncomfortable one.
We were also informed about the $250 deposit. If you aren’t already aware of this policy, it can be quite a surprise to suddenly be expected to pay an additional $250 for incidentals. The employee’s attitude while explaining it made the situation even more uncomfortable.
After getting to the room, I was disappointed again. The room did not appear to have been thoroughly cleaned. I ended up using my own cleaning products to wipe down the kitchen area, bedroom area, television, and other surfaces. The seating area also had visible white stain which made it difficult to feel comfortable sitting there.
Later that evening, cigarette smoke could be smelled coming into the room from other guests, despite the property being advertised as non-smoking. The surrounding area also made us feel uncomfortable, and because of the experience we had at check-in, I did not feel comfortable approaching her.
Just look for other places to stay this is not worth the headache or how gross it actually was and how surprising because it was just built.
