It is a beautiful and historic hotel. It doesn’t have the luxuries of many modern hotels, but it is comfortable, clean, and one of the nicest staffs I’ve encountered. We will stay here again!

I honestly cannot say enough about this hotel. For years, it was the spookiest-looking place around, but the results of the renovations are amazing. Everything is fresh and spotlessly clean. Polished floors and windows, detailed ceilings, period furnishings, comfortable (and anti-bedbug sealed) beds, luxury linens. Our room had a mini-fridge and a microwave, ceiling fans and large-flatscreen tv. For a lower price than any of the national brand hotels, we had a luxury stay with character! Add in the friendly, helpful staff and onsite restaurant with great prices and delicious biscuits and blue corn pancakes… you really can’t beat it!

Chris at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. I work in a hotel and I can tell you he is excellent! The room was beautiful and I loved the bloodorange lotion in the bathroom.

We tried to access the internet with no luck. We called the front desk (on our cell phone, no phones in the room)for a password. The gentleman who answered said there was no password and just log in to the website. Again we had no luck because it continued to ask for a password. We gave up, as we were tired from traveling.

My favorite place to stay when I'm in town. I travel by train, and it's literally right next to the station (but don't worry- train noise is minimal). It's a wonderful mix of vintage decor and a modern AC/heating system. And the staff is very helpful and friendly!

This is a lovely hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only negative is lack of amenities. I understand the bar is opening soon and a restaurant is to come. That will be an improvement but there needs to be at the very least a snack counter. Soda, chips, etc

This historic Fred Harvey property was clean and attractive. It was renovated and reopened in 2019. Staff was welcoming, friendly, and anticipated and fulfilled our every need. We’ve stayed here several times in the past and will stay here again, highly recommend.

We arrived late first off. When we got off the freeway and turned into, well let’s say a not so nice area, then into the dim parking lot that my gps brought me to. I was greeted by signs saying not liable for break in or damaged vehicles park at your own risk. Ok not what I expected of the best reviewed hotel in town. The building was very old. Inside is all antiques and old everything. It smelled old also. We got our suite, it was clean. The room had a bad smell like old stale shoe polish. The living room part was a chair, a small old couch, 2 end tables and a huger dresser thing. No tv. The bedroom had a tv. Bed was ok but I think it was old also. It was rutted out or hammocked from being overslept in. The linens weren’t great and were rough on the skin. I’m 6’3” and I hit my head on the overhead bed rail like 4 times going to and from the bathroom. The bathrooms were clean and nice. No issues there. The staff. The night guys did their best and were as helpful as they could be. We were grabbing items and minding the puppies so they opened the door right away for us. Thank you. The next morning mind you was not great at all. The lady behind the counter couldn’t even say good morning. I asked if there was a breakfast or snacks and she said, no just coffee. Had one cup and out the door we went. Omg I think the coffee was antique as well. It got poured out into the gravel parking lot immediately. Not good for dogs either. Too expensive.

This was an old historic hotel with huge ceilings and large rooms with lots to clean. We appreciate the charm that goes with old buildings. That being said, a better job could have been done with checking out of the way spots, like window ledges behind the curtains had cobwebs and needed cleaning. The bathroom was very clean.
