TL:dr – This hotel has bed bugs, and I’m having to fight them to refund my full 2-night stay, even though I was only in the room less than one hour.
Expedia won't refund me without the approval of the hotel. I have photos and videos of the overall condition of my room, which was already abysmal - the reviews claiming renovations are either lies or this room was left off the list.
I dropped off my luggage earlier in the evening and left after 10 minutes. Didn't get back until 11:30, was in bed by 11:55. Within 3 minutes, a bed bug was crawling on the comforter. I got up, packed up to leave, took a video on my way out and another bed bug was crawling on the pillow I had just been laying on. I told the front desk on my way out, they weren't surprised, referenced "the last time this happened" and told me to contact Expedia and the manager. This morning I was notified by Expedia the hotel refused my request for a refund for the two nights, even though I was only in the room less than an hour total.
