The room was brilliant, the property is well maintained, the buffet breakfast is the best in the biz. The staff was helpful, attentive, and polite. My only complaint was the temperature in the fitness room was 77 degrees and no one seemed to know how to turn it down. Too hot for a workout!

I booked this hotel while driving from Virginia to Florida. Having stayed at Holiday Inn Express locations across the country, I expected a well-maintained room with all the necessary amenities for a restful stay. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The tissue boxes and lotion jar were empty, there were insufficient towels, and the toilet paper was gone. I called the front desk, but no one was available to provide the missing items. The next morning, I requested to speak with the manager and was informed they would be available later in the day. I would not stay at this Holiday Inn Express and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else either.

The hotel was very clean, bathroom was great. Plenty of counter space and hooks to hang things up. Breakfast was also great! But. The reason for 3 stars was what happened after we left. My husband left his bb cap there and we tried calling front desk to see if yhey could mail it to us. The call went straight to a recorded message and then hung up on me 6 or 7 times. Finally called the main Hampton inn/Hilton number and after speaking to a few people got a number for yhe Hampton Inn Richmond/Chester hotel. There aparrently are 2. Waiting for a call back on the cap now.
