We had two reservations at this property (in between travel from England to Ireland). First stay was fine. Hotel nice, but be advised the rooms are very small. Not sure what angle they took pics at, but they are deceiving. Our first stay the hotel was catering to a large tour bus group of mostly elderly individuals. After our first stay, we traveled to Ireland for a week and there my husband fell ill. Because of the very small nature of the hotel, and because there were many elderly individuals staying there on our first visit, we called (admittedly the day of) to cancel our reservation so as not to expose people to sickness (since there really is no place to social distance at the St. Andrews). We were charged the entire night stay anyway. I understand them having to recoup costs for a late cancellation...but it seems like in this case, for the protection of their customers, they may give us a little break. Nope. St Andrews is the poster child for the phrase 'no good deed goes unpunished'.
