Terrible Experience – Hidden Fees, Rude Staff, and Poor Room Conditions
I had an absolutely dreadful stay at this hotel. I was driving up from Paris and unfortunately took a wrong turn, which caused me to arrive at the hotel around 11 PM. Although the booking notes mentioned a 10 PM check-in cutoff, the front desk staff demanded an extra €30 late fee—which amounted to 35% of my total room cost! Due to language barriers and sheer exhaustion, I chose not to argue or confront them because all I wanted was to get some sleep. However, their attitude was extremely impatient, dismissive, and downright rude during our interaction, making the situation feel even worse.
The physical condition of the hotel was equally disappointing. There is no elevator, so I had to drag my 28-inch suitcase up three flights of stairs just to reach my room. Once inside, the room felt dark, damp, and had a strong, unpleasant musty smell that made it very uncomfortable to stay in.
On a positive note, the breakfast was acceptable, and the housekeeping staff member I encountered in the morning was polite and friendly. However, these minor positives do not outweigh the terrible overall experience. Given the hidden fees, poor customer service, and subpar room conditions, I will never be staying here again. Truly a nightmare.
