We were a party of 4, 2 couples who had booked 2 rooms for one night. The Market Tavern staff were very welcoming. We were personally shown to our rooms and offered assistance with luggage, which we didn't need on this occasion. The rooms were lovely, nicely decorated and very clean. The bathrooms were a nice size and also very clean. The bath towels were really nice!. In our room we had plenty of tea/coffee/bottled water and biscuits. Breakfast was also very nice. I would highly recommend a stay here and would definitely book again if I was in the area.

We only stayed one night, we wish we could've stayed longer! We had an 8 week old baby with us and were accommodated with a bassinet for her which was lovely. Our room was beautiful, with a large, very comfortable bed and plenty of room. It was clean and very well maintained. Staff were incredibly friendly, especially who I believe to be the head waitress, she was particularly kind and helpful. We had dinner and breakfast while we stayed which were both delicious. I'd definitely recommend the charcuterie to share, the focaccia is divine and my partner particularly enjoyed the full English breakfast before we checked out. The outdoor area is clean, tidy, very comfortable and relaxing. Absolutely wonderful stay overall.

Very lovely pub with a nice relaxing atmosphere. Our room was gorgeous and seemed to be very recently renovated. Bampton itself is lovely with some nice shops right next to the pub. The pub doens't offer parking but we had no issue finding street parking close by.

What a lovely hotel! The room, although small, was perfectly adequate and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were so kind and attentive. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here.

The hotel is ideally located for exploring the area. It is well appointed, spotlessly clean and the staff are all friendly and polite. Our room was excellent and the food was great. We had breakfast and dinner during outlr stay and both were excellent.

We chose The Market Tavern because of it's location - it is in the same village where our son, daughter-in-law and new grandson live and we were visiting. The whole property has been tastefully renovated and is lovely. We had eaten in the pub before but not stayed. Bampton is a quaint village with plenty of amenities and is well placed for visiting lots of interesting places. Breakfast was good with cold and cooked choices. Staff were friendly and attentive. We would stay again

The Market Tavern is a little gem and a very welcome find! Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff, nice room and bar / restaurant. The star of the show is the food which was superb. A small menu but this means everything is good quality. Prices are reasonable - and worth every penny. With many restaurants now asking £35-45 for a steak, my steak at the Market Tavern was just £24. Ok, it wasn't a fillet or a rib-eye, it was a rump (a so called inferior cut!) But the chef here knows that it's about the cooking and not the cut! Well cooked, tasty and satisfying - all at a great price! What more could you want! A clever move that will bring in the punters! The breakfast (included in the room rate) was also excellent. We have friends in the area and just needed an over night stay so this will definitely be our go to place when we're in the area. Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend highly - we'll be back!

A beautiful building in a picturesque village. We only stayed for one night, but the tavern is a treat. The food was delicious, the room clean and comfortable, the staff helpful and attentive. I cannot recommend The Market Tavern highly enough!

Quick and efficient check in. Lovely beer garden at the rear. Really friendly and helpful staff. We had dinner in the restaurant, the food and choice was great. Would definitely recommend and if we are ever in the area would stay again.

Only thing that let it down was what we think was a sensor on the external door repeatedly beeping all night and the street lights shining through the top of the curtains making the room a bit too bright. Other than that it was an excellent stay, lovely pub, food, service, drinks and room. The homemade rhubarb drink was amazing
