I would like to share an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience I had during my recent stay at Marriott Boulevard Baku, which has completely shattered my trust in this international hotel chain — a brand I had always associated with professionalism and high service standards.
I stayed at the hotel over the past weekend. Initially, everything seemed fine: the check-in was smooth, the front desk staff were polite, and the overall service met expectations. However, what happened on the day of my checkout completely changed my impression.
I checked out at 12:00 PM, and just 10 minutes later, I realized that I had left my AirPods in the room. I immediately called the front desk, informed them about the forgotten item, and requested that they keep it safe until I returned later that evening. I was assured there was no need to worry, and that my item would be secured.
When I returned to the hotel at 5:00 PM, what followed was nothing short of chaos. I was bounced from one staff member to another, and no one could give me a clear answer or provide any actual help. For two hours, I waited while various employees claimed to be “checking” details, such as whether housekeeping had cleaned the room — but no real action was taken.
