Excellent location, loved the old style building and features. We opted for the superior room much larger and an amazing view from the 3rd floor across the rooftops of Halifax. Comfy bed, the hotel is a bit dated in areas but didn't spoil our stay for one night as we watched a music event at the Piece Hall our main reason for staying in Halifax.

In great need of an overall, its looking very tiered. The bed had a massive dip. The wooden chair was ready to fall apart. Shower door didn't close properly.

No parking at the property. You have to park in the Broad Street car park for £15. Very basic amenities - tea and coffee. It did the job for what I needed as was going to a gig. Wouldn't want to stay there otherwise - no atmosphere and a bit drab.

Great central location if visiting the Piece Hall, friendly staff. Hotel is dated and a little run down in parts. Requested twin room and had a large room with a double and single bed in, bathroom large, complimentary toiletries, tea/coffee facilities, kettle very clean/new. Beds comfy and clean. The room rates reflect the standard of hotel, basic but all you need for a night.

We had quite a wierd experience having booked a family room to be told that all the rooms were doubles. We were given another room on a different floor so had one adult and one child per room. The bathroom door in one of the rooms then jammed shut (luckily no-one was in the bathroom) so we were given another room on another floor. All very strange. It was very noisy outside the hotel throughout the night so didn’t get much sleep.

After reading the reviews we were quite anxious about what to expect. Overall we had a good one night stay. The bedding was clean. Its a beautiful building but could do with a big renovation. Would probably not stay again. Didn't pay much, so didnt expect much.

Great central location close to shops, bars and restaurants. Room was dated but clean. Bed was comfortable. Tea & coffee in the room. Toiletries provided. Close to the piece hall for concerts. Let us check in a little earlier as the room was ready.

The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was clean but the bathroom needed some maintenance…fittings were broken and the lock was too. Decor was tired and needed updating in general, though I’m not sure what they are allowed to do being Grade 2 listed. Ideally situated in the middle of Halifax so great for the shops and sites. Too expensive so not great value.

Dont stay here! Old, bulky mattress. Old carpets, needs renovation to walls ie paint. TV wanky. Loud. Also, fire alarm went off around midnight and scared me. Tried to cancel second night and get it in writing or a print out , which they couldn’t do. Also, no ac so hot and didn’t help that the towel warmer in the bathroom could not be turned off. It’s central, yes but not worth the money

Room was small with no view. Have just looked and we booked a deluxe room with a city view. If we had a deluxe room I dread to think was a standard room looks like. Bed too soft. View was a wall and windows. Used sanitary towel pushed behind the toilet
