Upon my arrival, the gentleman behind the counter was incredibly kind. I showed up a couple of hours early and was drenched in sweat, after walking nearly 40 minutes from the train stop to the hotel in high humidity and 95 degree heat. He brought me two cold waters and even let me check-in early.
The room was very spacious, complete with a large bed, massage chair and a couch. There was even a gambling slot machine in the room. Shower and toilet were in separate rooms. It felt like a mini apartment.
However, on my third day, when I moved the pillow to sit on the bed, there was a used condom right behind the pillow. I’d slept on that bed for two nights and never knew. It’s highly unsanitary. I reported it to the gentleman using Google Translate and he was clearly embarrassed and very apologetic. He sent a staff member to clean the room right away, while I went to the store. The bed also had an uncomfortable mattress topper placed on a mattress that had all sorts of dark stains on it.
When I got back, the room smelled fresh and the pillowcases had been changed. But the sheets were still the same and the couch still had hair on it from the previous guest. It also had a large tear in the couch cushion, and one of the walls had peeling wallpaper and a large paper patch covering what I assume is a hole behind it.
Also, 90% of the fridge is inaccessible for storage, as it’s full of drinks that you pay for via coins.
That’s my experience. I have photos of all of this.
