We had to deduct two stars due to a last-minute location switch and communication issues. The host informed us just one day before arrival that the original property was undergoing renovations, offering an alternative location in South Vancouver instead. We had specifically paid a premium for a central Richmond location; however, with only 24 hours' notice, finding an alternative booking was impossible, so we had to accept it. When we requested a partial refund/discount due to the inconvenience, the host refused to budge.
Additionally, there was a very loud ventilation fan that ran all night and disrupted our sleep. Since the host was never on-site after our first night, we couldn't get assistance on how to turn it off. On a positive note, the room itself was clean, well-built, and accurately described, featuring a nice (though small) dedicated bathroom. We didn’t use the kitchen, so cannot comment on it.
