The front reception staff were lovely. The hotel is old and needs a renovation. It is a block from the famous tourist stairs which was awesome but the area is not a good place to stay if vacationing.

Ridiculously noisy. It may be out of the hotel's control but neighbouring rooms made so much noise that sleep was not possible the first night and near midnight the second night. Good loca5near Selaron steps.

Beyond Unacceptable

This is right in the middle of Lapa party district and for $30 for a Friday night during Carnival, I appreciate that it is cheap, however, some things are just completely unacceptable. When I checked into my room which the cleaners were just leaving I found a good sized room with fridge, twin beds, a wardrobe and TV and a good sized bathroom. However, the sink and co. had not be cleaned and contained male fluid stains en-masse. Both looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months and the floor was also filthy. The bed sheet contained a hand sewn rip too (I mean... seriously?). The shower was very good though I know for sure that everything was beyond filthy. The pillows stank. With such an attitude to hoarding old or broken appliances and linen etc. you can be sure that everything is unsanitary. Aside from that stated above all the staff were really nice, but....that doesn't make up for what I saw.

Antes de reservar o hotel olhei muitos comentários e a maioria era falando mal do hotel, entretanto, na minha sincera opinião, o hotel realmente está em acordo com o valor da diária que é cobrada. Já fiquei em inúmeros hotéis pelo Rio de Janeiro e se alguém quiser luxo, acredito que esse não seja o tipo de hospedagem. Não tive nenhum tipo de problema, ar condicionado funcionou super bem, assim como água do chuveiro, etc. Claro que o hotel precisa de uma reforma, pois é bem antigo… mas digo e repito, levando em consideração o preço que paguei, me atendeu bem. A propósito, o estacionamento é ótimo, não é no mesmo lugar, mas praticamente do lado. A rua é bem movimentada por conta da escadaria Selaron e arcos da lapa logo abaixo.

Ficamos hospedados no Hotel Americano, no Rio de Janeiro, e infelizmente a experiência foi extremamente negativa. A única coisa positiva é a localização, que de fato é boa, porém isso não compensa os inúmeros problemas encontrados. Os quartos são péssimos: cama com lençol rasgado, cheiro forte e desagradável, travesseiros com manchas visíveis e banheiro com iluminação muito ruim, o que compromete totalmente o conforto e a higiene. Além disso, escolhemos o hotel porque foi informado que havia Wi-Fi, pois precisaríamos trabalhar durante a estadia, mas até o momento não conseguimos nenhum sinal de internet. Há hotéis na mesma região com valores mais acessíveis e qualidade muito superior. Diante de tudo isso, considero o hotel de péssima qualidade e não indico a hospedagem.

Estacionamento em local fechado, coberto e seguro. Ar condicionado gela bem, porem faz bastante barulho, mas nada que nos atrapalhou tanto. O chuveiro é EXCELENTE, o banheiro so tem um problema que da pra ouvir tudo do banheiro ao lado, mas fora isso foi tranquilo. Tv funcionando perfeitamente, as meninas da recepção foram super atenciosas.
