Title: A pleasant surprise – don’t let the “motel” label fool you
Review:
I’ll start by saying I don’t have much motel experience – I usually stick to hotels. So I wasn’t sure what to expect when I booked the Granby in Grand Forks, BC. But I was really, really happily surprised.
The linens and bedspread were way nicer than I anticipated – soft, clean, and felt closer to what I’d expect from a decent hotel. The pillows were incredibly comfortable (which rarely happens for me when I travel). The location was also surprisingly quiet – I slept better here than I have in some much pricier places.
On top of that, the staff were so helpful and kind. Genuinely welcoming and went out of their way to help us.
If you’re a fellow hotel loyalist on the fence about trying a motel, give the Granby a shot. It changed my perspective.
