Gem of a hotel to find

It was very clean. Our was standard double but bed was super king size, not complaining. Large room, with tea and coffee supplies. Would come again.

8/10 Very good

Was looking for a good value place to stay for a work trip. This place was perfectly fine for the price and the staff were helpful. Looks like the bathrooms have been recently refurbished to a good standard. Free parking included is a bonus.

It was fine. Radiator was too hot to touch. Took 2 hours to cool down.

Room was clean, staff I spoke with on the phone lovely, but only a couple of TV channels worked, no remote control, and no wifi.

2/10 Poor

Never again

It was the worst hotel I have stayed in at least the last 15 years. No hot water in the morning, the bed was ancient, and no one in reception to talk to in the morning to share these complaints. The wifi barely had signal either.
Rosa María, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Avoid... if you need internet

the worse hotel ever stay, WiFi is terrible also phone signal, basically no connection, chair is wobble and danger to sit, the size and where place hand wash isn't adequate and not safe to use.

A well run and convenient hotel near to Leeds city

Given its very modest room rate, this hotel overachieved my expectations. I was very comfortable with large well heated rooms. It was cleaned and decorated to a good standard - above what I expected at this price point. Parking was good and convenient. It was a short drive into Leeds city centre where hotels are three times the rate and without the parking convenience In summary, I would stay here again as an overnight stay. Top tips: I saw no evidence of food service, The proprietors have left a list of takeaways and restaurants and made arrangements for you to eat on-site. Reception closes at 8 pm - for prepaid visits ( I used hotels.com) they will make arrangements to leave you keys in a secure box that I was able to access at 11:30 pm following a late arrival from London. There is a bus stop outside with direct service to Leeds city.

I can't fault the staff , the food was very good and the rooms very clean and tidy

Nothing to complain. Not a destination itself (apart perhaps for those who will appreciate the suggestive church and graveyard next to it…) but a fair stay

4/10 Fair

We stayed here 5 years ago and loved the place. This time we found the place was tired and very poorly maintained. The room was generally clean but some details were inadequate eg there was a bottle of hand wash and a bottle of body wash, but no shampoo. We were there for 2 days but there was only one toilet roll. We ran out on the first day but there was no one there to ask. I went to the gents toilet hoping to find one, but they had run out too. We had to go to the shops and buy one. We had another issue and rang the phone number provided on the business card, but no one answered. We would not stay here again.

2/10 Poor

Pretty much the worst ive ever stayed in.

I am always honest and give a review based on the stay. It was very poor overall. When we first arrived, our initial thought was the hotel looked a bit dated. We are by no means snobs or posh but we expect a certain level of cleanliness, this didnt have much as you will see in the pictures. The room we was given, we was happy at first because it was the opposite side to the motorway so would be quieter. Anyway, we went in and the room looked very old and dated. Not bothered about that. We dont go through things with a fine tooth comb but when you find one thing wrong, you start looking. The bed sheets were dirty and stained with the valance sheet had blood, dirt, stains, footprints and poo on it. The bed itself was 2 singles pushed together, different bases. Had bed bugs and spiders in the sheets plus pubic hair. The walls were very unclean with lots of marks. Window sills were full of mould and not been cleaned for, well, years. The carpet had stains, marks, hairs, cobwebs and even an old sticker, not been hoovered for months. The bathroom was so filthy i think a dog had been washed in there, with mildew, hairs etc. The toilet brush was full of toilet tissue which, in turn, was full of poo. The toilet seat had a massive spike sticking out of it. All in all very very poor. Admittedly they did move us rooms and it was slightly better except for the dust, broken light hanging down and a ripped bed sheet. Do not stay here.

Nice but not perfect

Nice driendly hotel, the noise from the M62 next door wasnt s problem with the window shut. Room was nice, only gripe is that wifi and TV were off at the time of my visit

Noisy

Very noisy. Really could do with a refurb. Dated, cramped bathroom. Definitely not worth the money.
Stephen, 1-night trip

4/10 Fair

Room was a good size but dated and carpet stained bathroom had black mould in shower No Wifi - this was a business trip so that was essential Very noisy from motorway and main road traffic
2-night trip

6/10 Good

Low cost by very tired hotel

Average hotel, suitable only if a low cost stay is required. The only real positives were the proximity to Wakefield and the very friendly lady that welcomed us. Located alongside a ‘very’ noisy motorway. Room was very small and in need of a refresh (carpet needed a thorough cleanse). Poorly kept grounds - gardens overgrown and garden furniture appeared unused for years. Would not choose to stay there again.

Does what it says on the tin - almost...

Friendly reception staff. Room is basic but spacious. Main problem is that wifi wasn't working the day I arrived - hope it will be fixed today as advised. Also no remote for the TV, but not a big problem. Plenty of parking and good bus service into Leeds.
