A wonderful stay from start to finish! The room was spotless, clean, and beautifully kept. Service was warm and attentive throughout. A huge plus goes to the on-site restaurant—the food was amazing and a true must-try. Breakfast was fantastic with great options, and parking was hassle-free and super easy. Highly recommended, we will definitely stay here again!

Nice hotel. If you want a tv you need to have a room on the second floor but who needs a tv nowadays when there is WiFi. Very comfortable bed and lovely big bathroom.

Unpretentious simple accommodations complimented with premium bedding and bath soaps. Hotel is warm and accommodating. Breakfast was magnificent. Staff were genuinely wonderful and friendly We would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed three nights at the Hotel Square in Tomintoul. Although this is an older facility which could use a few updates to rugs, curtains, etc., we were very happy there. The hotel is clean, beds are super comfortable and the rooms are large and supplied with everything we needed. Breakfast was very good! Most importantly, the staff was friendly and helpful, providing great service. We had a lovely stay!

Ich mag Hotels mit Geschichte – und genau das hat dieses rund 125 Jahre alte Haus reichlich. Schon beim Betreten merkt man, dass hier nicht alles glattgebügelt und modernisiert ist, sondern dass das Gebäude noch seinen ganz eigenen Charakter bewahrt hat. Unser Zimmer war groß, hell und angenehm geräumig, ebenso das Bad – herrlich britisch mit Dusche in der Badewanne und getrennten Wasserhähnen für heißes und kaltes Wasser. Auch die Betten waren sehr bequem, und wir haben hier wirklich hervorragend geschlafen. Natürlich merkt man einem Haus dieses Alters an manchen Stellen sein Alter an: Da schließt vielleicht einmal eine Tür nicht ganz perfekt oder der Kleiderschrank lässt sich nur teilweise öffnen. Für mich gehört so etwas aber eher zum Charme eines historischen Hotels als zu den Dingen, die einen Aufenthalt wirklich beeinträchtigen. Besonders positiv fand ich die sehr freundlichen und herzlichen Betreiber. Man merkt, dass hier ständig weiter renoviert, verbessert und Stück für Stück neues Leben in das alte Gebäude gebracht wird. Genau das macht den Aufenthalt für mich besonders sympathisch. Ein weiteres großes Plus ist das indische Restaurant im Hotel – das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker. Ich habe mich hier sehr wohl und willkommen gefühlt und mochte gerade diese Mischung aus Geschichte, Patina, Charme und sichtbarer Weiterentwicklung.

Poor please read

Rooms poor , bed uncomfortable, bath taps wrong way so cold runs hot , hot runs cold , took a hournto run a bath , shower none existent, nothing in the area for food so if you love curry yhats all they serve there Poor out dated rooms to just make money , tv remote missing , no areal for tv Would never stay here again we were having to travel 1hour plus each way for food Not a welcoming area

The hospitality and service by the lady owner and her staff was excellent and beyond expectations. The breakfast included a good range of cereals plus a choice of delicious hot dishes cooked to orde by the chef. A coffee plunger for the table and an open fire in the dining room on a cold morning were nice touches 😀. The. hotel exterior has a grand stone facade facing the square, which was very inviting. Our room was spacious with a large en-suite bathroom. It would benefit from some update to the decor which the owner has plans to achieve in time. We greatly enjoyed our stay there and highly recommend it DCto other travellers.

Tired hotel needing tlc

Not the most up to date of hotels. We found an old bottle of milk in our fridge on arrival too. The TV had no aerial fitted. Not enough sockets to accommodate the fridge, kettle, TV, hairdryer…had to choose two out of four ! I’m not a fan of being asked to choose my breakfast menu at 8pm. I felt like I was interrupting a chat with a ‘local’ when I had to ask for some service at dinner. The restaurant is 90% Indian which limits my choices I’m afraid. A tired hotel in need of some tlc and more enthusiasm from the staff. They did try though sometimes…the manager seemed nervous to be public facing but made an effort, despite some language difficulties I’m afraid
