My stay at Gaia Suites had both positive and negative aspects. The room was clean and the location is quite good and convenient.
However, there was a major downside. My room was facing the street with bars, and the noise was unbearable. I didn’t sleep for three nights because of the constant disturbance.
When I complained at the reception, they told me they could change my room, but I would have to be there at 2:00 PM. As a tourist, I found it unreasonable to be expected to wait at the hotel instead of going out and enjoying my day.
They also suggested that I should close the windows. I had already done that and clearly explained it to them, yet they insisted that I must not have closed them properly. I found this response dismissive and unprofessional.
I would not recommend staying at this hotel unless you can confirm in advance that your room faces the back street or unless they significantly improve the soundproofing.
