I was in NYC for 2 nights for a few meetings and didn’t want to spend a ton of money, so I stayed at the Nolita Express. It’s not fancy, but it’s great “bang for your buck.”
You get a simple, clean, small, private room. There’s no ceiling to the rooms (I’m assuming due to zoning laws), so you can hear your neighbors snore/make noise, if they do… but I generally found it to be pretty quiet. Plus, they have earplugs at the front desk if you want them.
The bed itself is small and not necessarily the most comfortable, but again, not bad given the price.
The common areas, including the bathrooms, are surprisingly nice and clean. My only complaint is that the shower was quite hot and difficult to control the temperature on. Aside from that, it was all better than I expected.
If you’re looking for a budget-friendly, well-located place to stay in NYC, this is a great option. I would definitely come back in the future.
