Average hotel - look, it's in the heart of downtown in one of the older buildings so I wasn't expecting anything grand. It lived up to the expectations, which is what I hoped for, without exceeding anything I expected.
The hotel was clean, everything worked. The room offered no amenities except for an air conditioner - but as expected, the AC only worked when you were in your room with your key in the slot - without that, the power doesn't come on. Not a bad idea in a country where electricity rates are high and the temperature is so high the AC will never cut off. Just be aware that when you get back to your room it will be very hot for a while.
You will get charged for any guest/friends/family you have stay beyond those booked - keep a track of who, what and when as they tried to charge us for several nights even though nobody was there for most of them.
Housekeeping - we didn't ask for any for the first few days. When we did ask the first time, nothing was done. The second time was red-carpet treatment. The third time was half done and the rest left. Hit and miss - but they appeared to have one guy working that side and he was helping carry bags upstairs, doing general maintenance and handling room turnovers as well as general housekeeping so not a big deal.
