This was a disappointing stay. The service ranged from excellent (pool service, though admittedly that's at the Beach Club) to overly chatty (bellhop) to disinterested (front desk and wait service at the Beach Club restaurant). The facility is beautiful, and the Beach Club is awesome
We had two issues that were rather frustrating. First, we requested non-feather pillows to accommodate an allergy, and we were assured by the front desk (twice) that the hotel has no feather pillows. We arrived rather late and we had a baby that needed to go to sleep as soon as possible. Once the baby was asleep and we laid down, we realized that all of the pillows were down pillows. Rather than wake the baby and summon the chatty bellhop, we just slept on them and asked for it to be resolved the next day. It was not resolved until late in the evening after three requests.
Second, there was a fire alarm test that was scheduled for Thursday within a certain time window, so we made plans to be out of the hotel at that time, especially with our baby. The alarms started going off on Wednesday and went off several times, while the baby was sleeping. When I went to the front desk to ask about it, they were remarkably disinterested and unapologetic, simply explaining that there was a mix up with the town.
I truly hope that this hotel can pull it together. Good service is difficult to come by these days, but at the price point this hotel is seeking, it's a must-have.
