Not worth the room price
Stayed overnight for my friend's birthday, and our stay was good overall, but there were a few things that brought my review down. First, I booked through a third party because it was a bit cheaper, and my booking showed that the totally I would have to pay at check-in was $55 (the resort fee), which wasn't a problem. I wanted to make sure there wasn't going to be any other fees I would have to pay at the time. I checked both my booking and the website, but couldn't find anything, so I thought I was good to go. Lo and behold, I had to pay a surprise $150 incidental at check-in. Minor bump in the road, but we were able to get our room right away even though it was only 2:30.
The pools are nice, but the ones at the contrast terrace were disgusting. They had paint on the inside for some reason, and the paint was peeling into the tubs. Having the relaxation terrace right by our room was nice, and we also went back to the GA pools around midnight.
Some of the pools were closed around then, but only because they were being cleaned.
For dinner we ate at Guenther's and the food was good, but for $26 dollars I expected the burger to not be so bland. In the morning we ate at Cafe Azuli, and while we were waiting to pick up our food, we overheard what seemed to be a manager talking to an employee and he said
"You know me, I love firing people". I don't think that's a great conversation to have while in an area that guests could easily hear.
