Great location and staff, let down by communication and breakfast logistics
The Positives: The location is fantastic if you enjoy the bustling energy of a busy market and temple area. The staff were lovely, and some members of our group had a beautiful, spacious room full of character.
The Negatives:
Arrival: The uphill road to the hotel is extremely narrow, and many drivers refuse to go up it. After a lengthy debate between the staff and our driver, the problem was left to us. We had to drag our suitcases uphill. Though they eventually assisted, it was a frustrating start.
Room Issues: Our room (3 people) was much smaller and less nicely done up than our friends' room (2 people). On day two, reception abruptly told us we had to change rooms immediately for another group. We had zero warning. While they moved our luggage, the forced move was poor customer service, and the next room was even worse.
Breakfast: The hotel was severely understaffed. Food items and clean cups constantly ran out, forcing us to repeatedly ask for basic things. It felt like they were intentionally rationing items; when juice ran out, instead of refilling the pitcher, staff asked exactly how many glasses we wanted and brought only that amount.
Verdict: I recommend the hotel, but confirm your room type before arrival and manage your expectations for breakfast.
