Lady who checked us in was very pleasant and helpful. We were given a room on the 3rd floor, in a part that looked like an old section. The lady said instead of taking the elevator and walking all the way around, we could pull up to the back side of the building and enter the back door. That entrance was closer to our room but, the stairwell was old and dark, even having an entrance rug on the floor with a different hotel name on it. When we entered our room, there was a smell of urine like a nursing home, which we determined was coming from around the toilet. My wife cleaned the bathroom floor and the smell went away. The chair in the room was spotted and had a large tear in it, did not sit in it. The bathroom vanity had some wood damage and the toilet paper holder was hanging partially from the wall. The parking lot is small… when we return that night after dark, we would not park at the back door due to the lack of lights, so parked at the bottom of the hill. In the morning at about 9:30am, some guy knocked on our door. When I opened the door, he asked if we needed anything, towels? What?! I’ve never had a hotel employee knock on my door before morning checkout to see if we “needed anything”! The hot water kept turning cold during my wife’s morning shower. On the good side, the beds were clean and comfortable, the room was fairly clean, and the lobby was very nice. We did not go down for the complimentary breakfast offered. No one at front desk at checkout.
