Absolutely loved my stay here - quiet and serene with beautiful mountain views. The onsens were incredible and often empty because of how small the hotel is. Great service and facilities!

Very clean and spacious room. A traditional Japanese feel to it! The amenities were great. They had most things you might need, including Yukatas. This together with the onsen bath made this a very relaxing stay. Finally, the staff was lovely and very helpful!

The atmosphere feels truly magical and relaxing from the moment you arrive. The staff were so welcoming and kind, which made the experience even more special.
Our room was beautiful, comfortable, and very well kept. We felt completely at ease the entire time.
This was one of the highlights of our trip and we would happily stay again. Highly recommend!

The hotel was very clean and tidy, slippers were provided upon entry into lobby so no outside shoes throughout the hotel. The hotel staff were super friendly and helpful, providing all information about the amenities during check-in. They also provided a flashlight when I went out at night, which I thought was a very nice personal touch.

If you're looking to get away to quiet serenity then this is a lovely place. It is removed from easy access to activities in the area, other than the outdoor sculpture park, which is EXTREMELY worth a visit, but it was a beautiful location to spend a peaceful break in the midst of the big cities on our itinerary.

If you want something boutique and intimate away from the usual Hakone tourist crowds, this is the place! The staff was so nice and helpful. The room was clean and spacious with amazing views. While there was no shower in our room, we basically had the small onsen areas to ourselves (men & women separate but fully nude only) or only a few other people. It's peaceful and has a homey feel with unique decor touches that we loved. From the bookshelves and records in the chill lounge area to in-room tea set with tasty green tea, it's a perfect place if you don't want the usual "formal hotel" vibe.

Our stay at Hakone Suisen was wonderful. The hospitality and warmth of the staff made us feel genuinely cared for. They have a well-managed indoor and outdoor onsen. Their breakfast service is also lovely. At checkout, a kind staff member even drove our luggage to the train station, going above and beyond. We would love to return.

Hakone Suisen was a peaceful hotel, and the staff was polite and discreet. After checking in we were given a brief presentation about the facility and the baths, and then we were left to explore on our own. Our room was lovely with beautiful views of the trees and surrounding hills and the fresh wheaty smell of the tatami mats. There was a refrigerator, a tea kettle with green tea, and instructions for how to set up our futons at night and how to use the public baths.
This was our first time using public baths, and we were a bit nervous. They ended up being very relaxing. The hotel is small (maybe 14 rooms or so?) and we went at the least busy times (they have a guide), so we had the baths all to ourselves both times we went. We preferred the indoor bath with its "nanobubbles" and beautiful views out the window to the cement wall views and crystal clear water of the outdoor bath.
The walk from the train station was short and easy. Just be sure to cross the road at the station and walk down the hill on the raised walk. Do yourself a favor and forward your luggage! Don't burden yourself toting it around the overcrowded transportation system of Hakone.
We brought our own dinner which we enjoyed in the hotel dining room. They have microwaves and utensils for guests to use. We enjoyed the small European pastries the hotel served for breakfast, in addition to soup and drinks. The addition of fruit, jam, and butter would be lovely, as would a few hooks in the room.
