If you stay in this hotel please BE VERY CAREFUL
We stayed 4 days and 3 nights for a wedding. In all that time they didn't make the room one single time (its a group policy). However we were fine with that since we weren't going to stay at the hotel but to sleep. Everything was “acceptable” (leaning towards bad) the whole stay. We checked out without issues and waited a lot for our luggage. I requested the receipt for the cancellation of the security deposit and the person in the front desk told me to not worry. My taxi was already out so I didn't have a "choice". Days after that, I noticed a charge in my credit card almost equivalent to the same amount of the stay, so I thought it was a mistake since the room was already prepaid in Hotels.com. Today I called to clarify the charge, and they told me that they charged a smoking fee and sent me a graphic in pdf as evidence. I'm medically prescripted to avoid smoking and besides that, at the day & hour they report the smoke sensors activated, I was taking a shower and then went out of the hotel . Finally they told me that they can't do aything, and that I should talk with my bank. No empathy, responsibility or solution at all. I will never stay at any La Quinta never again. Look for other cases like mine, it's more common than you think in this hotel chain.
