10/10 Exceptional

the room was clean and perfect, front desk staff very nice and stored my backpack before check in.

This is very affordable for this part of Manhattan. Just read the description carefully.
Michael, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Staff was friendly, but the hotel was not up to par. Shared bathrooms should be more cleaner.
Javier, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Very small, felt like a 3rd class cabin on the titanic. But, if it would be a bit closer to the subway it would be super since it’s so much cheaper than anything else in NYC

Great location and friendly staff

The stay was good, excellent location and what you want when you are busy seeing the city. The staff were friendly

I adore the Jane!

The Jane is one of my favorite hotels in the city. Perfect for just me for a few days, and I actually really enjoy the tiny little “cabins”! Super cozy and the service is very sweet, will always come back here!

First time being and it was really good. Very different but nice of the room/cabin at the same time. Would book here again for sure. Enjoyed it.

Looked different than the pics. But was ok, i would stay again. 👍
Ricardo, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Nice and quiet place.
Jarmo, 4-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Great for solo travelers, while rooms are small they're strategically outfitted with hooks, shelves, and under bed storage. Shared bathroom was clean and other guests kept to themselves in common areas. The Jane is a great deal and a safe place to stay if you plan to be out in the city all day!
Samantha, 2-night trip

I like the front desk individual. I did not like the private club employees always coming through

Christopher at the Jane!

I love the Jane! Staff is always courteous and easy. My only complaint is that each floor always has one shower door that won’t stay open after use. Those showers smell because they never air out. Mildew smell is awful compared to the shower where the door is always open. I made this suggestion before but I guess it fell on deaf ears. I’ve stayed on every floor…shows how often I return. ;)) Other than that….I will always return

Great location, pleasant staff, friendly guests. The room is quite tiny but completely sufficient if you’re not fussy and just need a safe and clean bed for the night. The showers & toilets are down the hall, college dorm style. There was a private rooftop party. Would be nice if guests could enjoy that area when not booked.

For me, this was an inexpensive option to stay in manhattan. The building is an interesting piece of New York history (read the Wikipedia). If you know what to expect, a small room with a small bed, and a common bathroom. I suggest flip flops.

No Frills for the Win!

You can think of this as a no-frills experience. It provides a good (but very small) bed, a robe and towels/wash cloths. Once you figure out how it works- a mini adventure- there are a fan and air conditioner as well. At the time I stayed there, they were renovating so night time was no problem, but a nap during the day was only possible with ear plugs and white noise. The staff was polite and knowledgeable.

2/10 Poor

I would like a refund

There were mosquitoes, flies and rats in the hotel room. There was my strappings behind the bed. Where you lay your head and although it is a nice styled hotel, there are people who live there permanently and do not have good hygienes. Therefore the hotel needs to do some cleaning up. I was moved from one room to another. Where both times there were mice droppings and mice sighting
Randall, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

A tragic devolution of this historic hotel. Lobby and amenities are gone. Bathrooms are dilapidated more reminiscent of a seedy hotel. Bring sandals! Bring water! I was asked to leave my room to relocate to replace carpets the second day of my three day stay. I have stayed here for 20 years and this will be my last.
