We stayed at Montenegro Lodge for two weeks and had a lovely, relaxed time. Our experience aligned with most other reviews—overall great, but with some issues.
Pros:
Staff: Exceptionally friendly and helpful, always eager to assist with a smile despite long shifts during peak season.
Hotel: New, with spacious rooms, comfortable beds. Our two-bedroom room had a sofa bed, accommodating up to six people. The kitchenette included a fridge and double hotplate.
Breakfast: Excellent buffet with fresh pancakes, sausages, eggs, cereals, and plenty of fresh fruit and salads. The chef also made omelettes to order.
Pools: Two clean and amazing pools the upper pool is larger, and the lower one slightly warmer.
Cons:
Kitchenette: Completely unequipped—no pots, pans, plates, glasses, or cutlery. We had to request a pan from the chef each time we wanted to cook, which had to be returned within two hours. This was disappointing.
Staffing: The lack of staff was evident, leading to delays, uncleared tables, and occasionally dirty dishes piling up. The repetitive buffet breakfast became tiresome after two weeks.
Recommendations:
1. More Staff: The current team is overworked, and management needs to hire more help.
2. Restaurant/Bar Manager: No system in place, with staff juggling all tasks instead of specialised roles.
3. Dishwasher: All dishes were washed by hand, leading to long waits for clean plates and cutlery. This is unhygienic and inefficient.
Disability Access: Not well-suited.
