We booked a double room with a balcony. The room cost 112 euro so we were expecting a reasonable level of quality and comfort. The accommodation was quite basic, with the bed lacking support and quite uncomfortable.
Unfortunately, the room and its balcony faced a very busy road so it was not possible to enjoy the mountain air by either sitting on the balcony or leaving the window or balcony doors open. The double-glazed windows blocked out most of the traffic noise so noise was not a particular problem as long as the doors to the balcony were firmly closed.
The wifi was a problem to start with. When approached, the staff member in charge of welcoming new guests was inclined to argue that there was no wifi problem. When asked to investigate further, she discovered that, indeed, there was a problem. The router was re-booted and the wifi connection improved.
A reviewer in 2022 commented that “The lady at front desk had a terrible attitude.” We expected that this person would no longer have the role of welcoming guests. Wrong. It seems that she is still there.
There is no longer a restaurant at the guest house. Only breakfast is provided. The breakfast was nothing out of the ordinary, but acceptable.
On the plus side, Inzell is a nice little town. We had a nice meal at Glusthaferl Restaurant & Röstihaus, 7 minutes walk from the guest house. Potential guests were being turned away around 20:30 so suggest you book and/or arrive early. The rosti are cooked freshly so there is
