It was a welcome relief after traveling the previous week. Its location along the promenade was terrific--perfect for running, walking, just enjoying the vibe of Getxo. Stayed here for the Akelaŕe a three star restaurant but while the service was brilliant, I left a bit disappointed with the food. Very pushy on getting us out on the morning we were leaving, we were delayed due to having to wait for a table at breakfast. Rooms and view were excellent.

Stunning property. Beautifully designed and renovated. Unfortunately the level of detail that they gave to the building has not extended to the service provided. Mostly unattentive staff, however, it seems to be that it is ingrained culturally because it is more than just an isolated incident, it’s part of the overall experience at the hotel. There is no feeling of luxury apart from the building itself, no experience beyond the beauty of the Palace. Pool service was almost inexistent, terrace service very deficient. They seem to be very reliant on events and not very much into providing guests with an ultimate enjoyment in Getxo.
