The hotel is a historic building with an interesting history. It is set far back from the road and feels private and secluded - lovely to walk around. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable. Great breakfast included!

The villa is truly beautiful, the rooms are spacious and clean, the staff are friendly and the breakfasts are excellent. There is also the added advantage of plenty of parking. Our stay was only relatively short (4 nights) but we could happily have stayed at Hotel Villa Ciconia for several weeks.

As someone who usually stays at very cheap stays, this was a treat. I stayed by myself and I felt like the room was very big. The bathroom and shower were small but fine. Front desk attendants were very nice and the breakfast was simple but enough to get my day started. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet at night! Beautiful villa. I would stay again!

Un hotel en el pasado.

Hotel fuera de Orvieto, en la zona cercana de Ciconia, esta a 10 minutos en auto del centro, pero cuenta con un ambiente relajado y tranquilo, en una casona antigua. Por lo tanto no cuenta con elevador. Una vez ahí hospedaso, te remontas a la Edad Media. Grata experiencia. Personal excelente.

Needs cleansing, updating and better staff

The shower was dirty the emergency line was totally disgusting, the tiles haven´t been cleaned for a while you can see the soap scum on the tile joints Yak! The bed foots have a nice design but they are really uncomfortable for your feet at night. the AC unit is old and noisy. The pool closes early at 7pm when there´s plenty of light in summer!! We asked for rental bikes and one of them had the handle bar loose, even though I try to fix it but no success also it was not my job. That was kind of dangerous and it surprises me that the staff didn´t care (did not pay for that service of course!) they just gave us the bike. at the end we decided to take the car to downtown. The staff is friendly but they don´t give you any advise or recommendations on what to do or what to visit, they just give you the room key and that´s it. The internet is slow almost null the municipal free wifi was better. The breakfast is also very plain. we have had much better service in smaller B&B´s. All of the drinks on the frigo bar are for purchase where as other places are complementary or cheaper. I think the owners are reluctant to improve this place. Fortunately, we stayed only one night. fortunately we stayed only one night.

Wer Altbau und es rustikaler mag, ein muss. Sieht schön aus macht aber einen schmutzigen eindruck, wie vor 200 jshren. Pool ist auch schön. Das Restaurant war eine volle 10 einfach top und günstig.

Overall less nice than expected. Especially disappointed in the pool, which, on an extremely hot day, was too warm to be refreshing. Plus there were biting bugs by the pool. The price seemed too good to be true, and, in fact, you get what you pay for.

Italian Charm and Character

A beautiful building, typical Italian villa, full of charm and character, our room was spacious and comfortable too with a view across to the swimming pool. Service was OK, nothing special but definitely not poor either, and the breakfast was OK too, again nothing special, but definitely not poor. Would stay here again.

Collocazione tranquilla per momenti di relax. Vicino Orvieto raggiungibile facilmente in auto. Bel parco, costruzione del 1500, piscina soddisfacente. Ottimo il ristorante.

overheating in castle

We choose this location because it is next to the highway. The rooms are spacious and were clean. The exterior pool was very comfortable especially since it was 33C. The A/C worked at max and could not cool down the room. therefore, we overheated at night. There was a local event and music played all night until 2 or 3 am and we could hear it from our room. Breakfast was ok.

Very nice old world Italian hotel. Great location for visiting Orvieto. We drove to the train station(5 mins) then took the bus to the town. At night we enjoyed a great meal at the hotel. Very relaxing outdoor dining. Remember, you are in Italy so your dinner will take 2-3 hrs, enjoy.

Rusticissima villa Ciconia

Nice bones but very dated renovation (80's?) and gloomy. Service was polite at best and the worse bed I slept in years. The property has Character, and potential but lacks charm.

E un hotel in decadimento, manca la manutenzione dall'ingresso per la mancanza di indicazioni per entrata, parcheggio, all'interno con pareti "almeno da ritinteggiare". Pulizia in stanza approssimativa, nel cassetto del comodino c'erano ancora delle carte sporche, probabilmente lasciate in precedenza.

Accogliente hotel recentemente rinnovato nei pressi della rupe di Orvieto. Personale accogliente e disponibile, camera spaziosa e silenziosa affacciata sul parco circostante. Materasso a molle non troppo morbido. Colazione continentale ricca e varia. Buon rapporto qualità prezzo.
