Driving across the country to see my ailing 98 year grandmother and I decided to sleep here. BIGGEST mistake ever. I ended up sleeping in my car, in the parking lot. My car is a tiny tiny VW Golf. I would rather sleep in a riny backseat instead of the hotel room let that soak in.
From the moment I opened the door to the hotel room hall entrance I knew I would regret my choice. The hotel hallway smelled like the 1970's smoker hotel that had a fresh coat of paint slapped on. It had a mix of nasty old smell and combined in for good measures was the smell of East Indian cuisine. Now, dont get me wrong, I love the food, but I certainly don't want that smell in my hotel room. I walk down the hall to my room, open the door and it was like makeup on a pig. The room was old and dingy, but again the fresh paint and white linens tried their best.
There was long dark hairs on the freshly folded towels, bugs, both dead and alive on the window ledge, a toe nail on the carpet by the bathroom and so much more.
I took pictures, I will be sending an email, and went to head back to my car as quickly as I could. I went to the front desk and no one was there. It was late. I tried to book other hotels in the area but everyone was full. So I slept in the backseat of my VW Golf. No blankets, no pillows. Not what one needs when crossing the country to see a dying grandparent. Thanks Travelodge. You will be hearing from me.
