I made the reservation around 11 p.m. for that night. My family was traveling 20 hours home from vacation and couldn't drive further without stopping to sleep. We arrived around 1 a.m. I went to check in, and the male night clerk seemed bothered by my presence in general. I gave my name for the reservation, which they had already taken the money for when I booked. He tells me that he cannot find my reservation and that because I checked in after midnight, my reservation was canceled and that there was nothing he could do about it. That didn't make sense to me because the reservation was for the 22nd checking out on the 23rd, and check out was at 11 a.m. so, how would I not be able to check in and use the room until check out? I explained to him that we were traveling, we've been driving for hours, we were exhausted, had our child in the car and needed our room that we had paid for. I explained to him I didn't have another $100 to spend on another room. He had no compassion, no empathy, and he seemed generally bothered I was even there. He asked me for the reservation number, which I provided. He said he still couldn't find my reservation. I started crying because I was so exhausted from having been in the car for so long and I was so worried that I would just be out the money. He finally called his manager who did fix it all, and we checked in once the manager got involved. The room was fine, but would never stay again due to the clerk.
