Dust Bunnies for Days
Our cottage was good from afar, but far from good. While it may have once been a charming little getaway, it is long overdue for care and upkeep. The bedrooms had smoke detectors removed, and there was an overwhelming amount of dust — not just a little, but on nearly every surface, including the walls, blinds, ceiling fans, shelves, windows, and floors. The bathroom had visible mold and mildew, and the front of the house was overgrown and unwelcoming. Water stains on the ceiling raised concerns about potential water damage and additional mold. The kitchen amenities (silverware, pans, spatula) were dirty with food residue still on them. There was no blind/curtain on the kitchen window so we had no choice but to look into our neighbors cottage.
On the positive side, the location was convenient — close to the beach — and the beds were comfortable. However, given the overall lack of cleanliness and maintenance, I would not return under these conditions.
