Staff at check-in were rude and unwelcoming. No one offered to help with our luggage when we arrived — we had to carry everything in ourselves from the taxi. Even when I asked for assistance (while pregnant), it felt like a chore for them. At a 5-star hotel, this was very disappointing.
At check-in, the staff insisted we had booked a twin room, even though my booking clearly showed a king. I was told no king rooms were left until I firmly pointed out that I hadn’t booked a twin. Only then did they agree to merge the beds, which took over 30 minutes after our arrival — not ideal after a long journey and arriving late at night.
Room service was also poor. We ordered at 9:30pm and requested it for 10:30pm, but it arrived late at 10:45pm with no cutlery or napkins, and the food was cold. The server was uninterested and insisted we pay the 15% service charge despite the issues. After another 10 minutes, one napkin and some cutlery arrived, but no further apology or support. When I called again to report the cold food and missing napkins, I was told they’d send another one “immediately,” but it never arrived.
Finally, the Japanese-style bidet in the bathroom didn’t work. An engineer came after 30 minutes and simply changed the remote battery but couldn’t communicate in English. The water still sprayed incorrectly, and we gave up trying to fix it as it was already late.
Overall, this was far below Hilton standards. Poor service, lack of care, and no attention to guests’ comfort
