From the moment we arrived it was one bad experience after another. Firstly the cottage looked nothing like the advertised photos. It was dated, old and filthy. The kids room had black mold on the air con vent which we cleaned off. The carpets were stained and the general feel was decrepit and depressing. Notwithstanding we tried to make the most of it.
We booked dinner at the onsite tavern via the online booking which I then phoned to confirm the day of. I was assured we had a booking and were placed at the “nicer” section. Upon arrival they did not have a booking for us.
We then went for a swim in the heated pool and found human poo floating in the pool. The next morning I phoned reception to advise and received zero return call.
I emailed staff to notify them as well as the disappointing stay so far. I received no response except to be caved into a forward email to maintenance to check the pool. I have stayed at other resorts who have pool closure policies for deep cleaning in these circumstances. At no point was the pool closed for cleaning.
Then the straw that broke it all was the power went off. We had no power. Again I email as I couldn’t get through to reception on the phone and received no response. By this stage we still had 2 nights there but decided to pack up and leave. Upon departure the staff simply said “oh well”.
We will never return and have told anyone who asks us how was our trip exactly this - it’s was horrific.dont waste your time or money.
