The room was not ready until late (about an hour too late!) and no apology or goodwill gesture was offered while we waited, not even a coffee! When booking, I requested an accessible room or one close to the bar and restaurant for my mother due to mobility issues. Instead, the room was around a 10 minute walk from reception for someone with reduced mobility, including several doors, which was unsuitable. Reception said no closer rooms were available, so I suggested swapping rooms with my mother once ours would be ready, to give her our larger family room nearer the amenities (which cost a lot more for 3 of us!).
Due to the late room availability, we also missed the spa before joining our party, our relatives checked in 1.5 hours before us! Given this and our willingness to accommodate by swapping rooms, I would have expected some acknowledgment of the inconvenience.
Bar service was poor, with staff appearing moody and abrupt. I felt uncomfortable asking the price of a brownie, an agency worker was spoken to abruptly when checking the price of something with a colleague, and a spoon was slammed onto my plate. We were polite guests, not making unreasonable requests.
Our young daughter found sweets on the floor in our bedroom!
The pool was cold and a member complained and left. Even the poolside area was extremely cold, I had a sauna and left.
I won’t go into detail on the poorly cooked breakfast buffet, it was a mess!
Very disappointed as we spent a lot of money.
