A disappointing stay overall. Here’s why:
We had two room, one for me one for my mother.
1. There’s not enough staff, we had to wait for someone to assist us every time we went to reception. There was always a wait at the bar because there was only ever one person serving.
2. On the evening of check in, my mother was asked to change rooms the next day since a mistake was made in their system.
3. If you’re thinking of doing some work while there, forget it. The WiFi will not connect. I waited overnight until it finally work, the staff just shrug and say there’s nothing they can do.
4. The restaurant menu is disappointing. Fish and chips and burgers and pasta. Nothing special and not even reasonable prices. The staff are young and untrained, they leave cutlery on the table that you won’t use.
5. The gents toilet was dirty. The toilet was not cleaned whilst I was there. See photo. Toilet brush was filthy.
6. The garden furniture with old and rickety. A large garden umbrella blew over one afternoon and nearly hit a guest.
7. Room change late, came back from a day out at around 4.30 and room had not yet been made up.
Overall, it feels like they are running the place on a limited budget and cutting corners. It’s not really a professionally run hotel, disappointing. Could be so much better.
