Our booking was for my family — my mum, dad, and two daughters. When we arrived, we were told the lift wasn’t working but were assured it might be fixed later that day or the next. Unfortunately, my mum has mobility issues and couldn’t manage the stairs to the first-floor room we were allocated, so my dad had to take her back home.
On the morning of checkout, my dad spoke with the “manager” to ask whether any reimbursement could be offered for my mum being unable to stay for two nights due to the lift being out of order. The manager’s response was simply that it was “out of their control.” From her body language and attitude, it was clear she wasn’t particularly interested in addressing the issue.
I’d suggest that, in future, if the lift is not working, the hotel should inform guests in advance — especially those who may have mobility needs — so alternative arrangements can be made.
As for the stay itself, the breakfast was quite basic with limited options for my daughters, and the rooms were just average. Overall, it wasn’t a great experience, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to others.
