Hotel was sold out, rooms were priced well. A female & baby elk were on the property. Everyone was very careful around them and drove slowly. The King room was spacious but had odd furniture in it. A metal patio set was right inside the door next to the bed, an eating space that was in the way. What looked like a dining table was the desk with an office chair. The bed was comfortable with 6 pillows. We did not use the T.V.
The pool walkway was in need of repair, many spots were worn into pebbles, hurting feet. Hot tub was about 100 degrees. Nice playground. Very noisy with road traffic and local kids riding through the parking lot and jumping the speed bumps. Steep, narrow parking lot with blind curve,1 lane road on a hill.
The breakfast area was nice with different seats and areas to sit in. The breakfast was the worst I've seen, even for a Continental breakfast. There were no small cartons of milk, hard-boiled eggs, or choice of bread-only white. Cereal was boxes of Raison Bran, several choices of fruit, and Waffles were in a package like a muffin. There was a microwave to heat them up. At 8:30am there was nothing left for breakfast. We had to wait for the staff to get out the meager offerings. We decided to go to local restaurants for a good meal. Had a water station. The coffee, hot chocolate, tea area was very minimal.
Location is great by Stanley hotel, Grocery, restaurants, horses, carts, golf, adventure park, downtown, shops, hiking, Rocky Mtn Nat'l Park-timed entry.
