This is a historic home that is very impressive It’s great value for the price and very beautiful and quiet. It is acceptably clean and check in and check out processes are very smooth.

It was nice to be a bit off the beaten path but close to the UD area. It is a property that needs some attention and it looks like the owners are doing the best they can. It is an historic home so in constant need of upkeep. You can see the patches everywhere. Unfortunately everything feels like the jobs are only getting half completed. The breakfast was the best part as there were plenty of choices and great coffee. The bed was comfortable, so another plus. There is no one to greet you, just an envelope with your keys and instructions to your room. The personal touch was missing.

This is a hidden gem! The house has so much character and charm, and we enjoyed relaxing and playing games in the various sitting areas, all of which are full of sunlight and have beautiful forest views. It's delightful to enjoy breakfast in the conservatory. We were impressed how perfectly clean and quiet our room was. The double jacuzzi was an amazing bonus! We hope to stay again soon.

We stayed here as it was close to the university of Delaware where our daughter graduating that weekend. The property itself was very appealing aesthetically. The proprietor was an amusing guy and had a special effort to accommodate a dietary request for the breakfast. Our room was comfortable. I wish the curtains could completely block the sunlight that was really our only negative observation. We would definitely stay here again.

Great time. I enjoyed the trails and the sunny patio. I even deadlifted the old-school strongman equipment, watches birds, and sat in the library. Next time I'll book a room with a tub and the spa treatments for the complete experience. It was a great escape from the city.

Beautiful setting Quiet Wonderful breakfast Comfortable accommodations Easy check-in/check-out Beautifully appointed rooms in the main house, with antiques everywhere. The bathroom shower we had was a little inconvenient and I could see that some folks could struggle getting in and out of the large claw-foot tub. There are no grab bars. It wasn't particularly difficult for us, but could be a trip/fall hazard for others. Overall, the inn provided an exceptionally nice experience. I would definitely recommend it.

My son & his wife stayed after their wedding and reception at the Chesapeake Inn. They said both said they would rate it a 4.5 of 5. I did find that whatever directions I put into my navigation took us on a long & winding road that led to a house on the other side of town. They said people come to their house often in search of the B&B. So it was a journey to get the happy couple there. They did enjoy their stay.

This B&B had so much character! So cozy and the staff was so nice. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and thoughtful. It was very easy for us to care for our horses at Fair Hill - about 8 minutes away. Only downside was a train I heard throughout the night... not sure if that is just seasonal. It could easily be covered with a white noise machine :)

Historic but very tired - maintenance issues abound leaving a lot to be desired in this rental price range. Shower/bath tub with rusted drain was tiny with a plastic shower curtain surround and unclean looking old surroundings. The property outside was in need of serious weeding and upkeep. You only get one chance to make a good first impression. The bed and room were comfortable but damaged surfaces around a hot tub and old furniture in poor condition did not lend a nod to antique furnishings pleasing to the senses and fitting for a B&B. Breakfast was good and the table eating area was spacious and pleasant. The La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham in Elkton is half the price and much better overall with a much better breakfast. - They had no rooms available so I thought a B&B would be a pleasant change as we have stayed at many good ones in other locations.

Staff were kind people. Something went south with the booking as I was told hotels.com allowed me to book a room that doesn't exist. It does exist I could see it on the property. The hotel double booked and was renting my room to someone else. We had no choice but to try and make it work onsite as the location was the reason we selected this spot. It was not a comfortable stay at all. The people here are good people and are tying their best but should not be in this business my visit was beyond horrible. If booking beware. No turndown, no clean towel refresh, no AC, no water bottles... the entrance to the spot we were put was not safe no stairs no lights, just a slippery grass hill.
