The bathtub was deep, and I could fully soak. The fireplace was a wonderful luxury.
There was a vacuum cleaner just outside my door. I figured it would be put away, but it was still there when I came back. The next morning, the housekeeping cart was there too. It felt like stepping into the janitor’s closet. I mentioned it to the front desk on the second day, hoping they would move it, but when I returned hours later, it was still parked in front of my room. I asked why and was told, “That’s where we keep it.”
When I booked, I liked that they advertised a restaurant next door that delivers. I understood when the restaurant was closed on Sunday, but I was disappointed to find it was also closed on Monday. If you’re going to advertise something on your website, list the days it’s available. When I mentioned I was bummed, the desk girl said, “They’re a separate business.” She did not care that the website was misleading.
They say they’re a “boutique hotel,” but it’s a B&B. The place is dim and dingy. The sheets were clean, but everything was slightly damp. The paint around the doors was chipped and dirty, and over the tub is bubbling up.
The bed was uncomfortable. lumpy and sloped from too many people sleeping on it over time.
Finally, the doors to the hotel open inward, which is a fire hazard. Doors should always open out, or if there's a rush, it creates a bottleneck, and people get trampled or crushed. It’s against SF safety codes; I’m shocked they haven't been fined.
