The Alpenhof is a wonderful old hotel right in the middle of Teton Village. As the billionaires have pushed the millionaires out of Jackson, the Alpenhof remains a gem... a place where the rest of us can still afford to stay at the base of the ski resort.
The staff was very nice and accommodating. I had shipped our skis to the hotel, and they were waiting in the ski room when we got there. On the way out, the staff held onto them until they were picked up.
The hotel has a wonderful old-world Bavarian charm, and yet it offers great amenities. The room was clean, comfortable, and large, if not luxurious or recently updated. We had a balcony with a view up to the base area. Since the hotel is owned by neighboring and more upscale Snake River Lodge, we had access to its fantastic indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub.
The hotel's restaurant, with its large outdoor deck, is one of the best apres ski locations in the Village... complete with a DJ, great beer, and excellent food.
All told, we had a fantastic stay and will most likely stay there again on our next visit to Jackson Hole.
