Considering that there are very few accommodations around Big Bend National Park, this remote lodge is not the worst choice for those who drive into the park from the west. The cabins, each designed for four families, are quite cozy. The restaurant is open from morning until 9 p.m. However, there are a few drawbacks:
1. The last three miles of the road are unpaved, and the car gets covered with an inch of dust. Inside the property, there is no asphalt, and there is sand and dust all around.
2. In the evening, there are no streetlights, making it difficult to move around.
3. It's in the middle of nowhere and quite far from Terlingua
