The room was clean. The balcony not at all clean. There were spiders and mosquitos and spider webs up above. Two chairs and table had dead bugs on them. We had them come and spray for the bugs. They should do that before guests arrive.

Family friendly. There are two pools, one inside and one outside that are well kept.

Don’t go to bar or restaurant. None of the vending machines worked.

Pleasant stay, but needs more staff.

They were definitely short staffed. Trash cans were overflowing inside and outside the facility. There were not enough staff to accommodate the guests at the restaurant. The room looked well worn. The walls were dirty in areas. The bed skirt was frayed and stained. The air conditioner blew directly on the bed below. If you turned the air down it was stuffy, so you had to choose your battle. The staff were very helpful though and tried the best they could. Many were seen doing multiple jobs, just to try to keep up. We would come back and try a cabin next time.

A nice getaway

A great place to stay, beautiful surroundings, lake view was nearly everywhere . The food was good, but the wait for seating was poor. They really need more help.Once we were seated, we got waited on within 5 or 10 minutes, and the waitresses were all very nice. Lake view was great from the main restaurant. The whole place looked clean, including our room. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

Gaming friends get together

The facility was wonderful for our gaming friends get together. On-site fire pit, grill and parking made the stay convenient, comfortable and relaxing.

Pool not working we reserved it based on wanting a pool. Staff did not care that we had booked for that reason alone.

Relaxing lodge and park

Lovely Ohio lodge overlooking the lake. Took several hikes, saw deer, loved the “rental” campfires each night. The restaurant and lounge both served excellent food and reasonable kids meals. Chicken tenders were the best I ever had!! Most visitors were mask compliant and was plenty of hand sanitizer around. Had an issue upon arrival with the rooms we had reserved thru Hotels.com were not the room we got. Front desk eventually &nicely got us into a room that was closer to the lakefront room we reserved. Room was large, but balcony really needed cleaning and bathroom could use an update. Overall, a very nice place to stay and relax, might try the cabins next time!!! Both pools currently closed but that was not important to us in March!!!

Nice place to stay

Really nice cabin for a weekend getaway, kitchen in (handicap cabin) was very spacious! Beds could definitely be updated (not as nice as the Mohican state park cabins) but overall a very nice getaway! Our cabin was extremely clean on the inside! There was a few small maintenance issues (lose shower handle and shower head sprayer) which we made the staff aware of. Overall a great place to stay if you like nature! Deer where everywhere!

Great Views

This was my second time staying here. It is ideally located between Cedarville and Circleville where I have meetings twice per year. Love the views, the service, the lodge feel, restaurant, and location.
This is the view I had while eating breakfast each morning from the restaurant. Great service and menu.
Another view from the restaurant of the lake.

Deer Creek is your typical Ohio State Park lodge. It's nice for families with an indoor pool and an on-site restaurant and bar. We have now stayed two years in a row around Christmastime because it is a nice getaway for the kids and the lodge is decorated beautifully with Christmas trees and decorations. I expected this year to be significantly different due to Covid, but it really wasn't, which was concerning. The pool was packed elbow to elbow with people and the halls were crowded with dozens of people without masks or any hint of distancing. We had a good time, but we spent a lot of it in our room.

Unhappy with your booking

The stay was good..but hotel. Com didn't get me what I asked for..i was supposed to be in a king size bed with a view..when I got there the lodge didn't have that from you..i wasn't pleased..they give me a room with 2 doubles beds and a view of the parking lot..

I have been going to Deer Creek since I was a little girl. My kiddos now also share the love of this wonderful place. I was sad that your Deer Creek Conditioner was out in my shower but all is well, that will NOT keep me away. I have told my kiddos and my husband that when I die, I want my ashes to be spread there. Hopefully that doesn't happen anytime soon. I mean, I am only 45 years old LOL

I have been going to deer creek since it opened the problem its stuck in a time capsule the beds a worn out the bathrooms were not cleaned the entire time we were there nor were the beds changed or towels offered .Then lets talk about the cold breakfast buffet and lack of decent meal offerings. we spent 100's of dollars only to rush home to cook something edible. on a scale of 1-10 i would need 0 . Sorry that this place where i would go to decompress twice a yesr is gone so far down.

It’s not what’s advertised

The lodge called us the day before our stay and said that they were overbooked and wanted us to move to a room indoors. They ended up making someone else give up their reservations so that we could have our cabin. When we arrived, the deck was broken, you can see the broken trim where the door had been kicked in, the screen was duck taped on the back porch, broken light switch covers with exposed wires and the wi-fi did not work. It was a good area but definitely not worth the price for the condition of the cabin. Also, we attempted to order from the restaurant they list on their site. After I called 5 times, I called the front desk for her to tell me that the restaurant doesn’t actually have a phone. Nor do they actually cook breakfast items from the provided menu. Good luck!

The food in the restaurant was good and our server was great but the place could use a lot of cleaning. The floor under soft drink dispenser on the lower level of seating was really bad and looking out the window and look up at the overhang. I’ll let you decide. All interaction with the staff was great. Very nice

4/10 Fair

The walls and door frames were dirty in our room.Rokms were very dated. The beds were absolutely terriable stiff as a board!. We honestly contiplated checking out early but since its non refundable and its not cheap we decided to tough it out. The bedding and 1 thin blanket u recieve on the bed is stiff and had seen better days. Although the staff was friendly and the was plenty to do to keep you out of the room itself. Rafters was very slow service , took a very long time to be noticed and guests to be seated. I look forward to camping there this summer but i wont stay in the lodge . It was not worth what i paid for unfortunately.
