Our stay at Deerhurst was disappointing overall, despite some positive staff interactions. The room felt dated (and unclean) and the old carpet was especially concerning given my child’s asthma. We were also assured at booking that this would not be an issue, but that was not the case.
In addition, a rodent was found dead in the hot tub and no disinfection protocol was followed, so we chose not to use it.
The hotel staff initially requested the opportunity to address our issues but they never followed through
That said, some members of the team were excellent and helped make the kids’ getaway special, including the staff at the rock climbing wall, and the street food truck. We also appreciated the quick response around 2 a.m. when nearby guests were causing a disturbance, although the noise continued afterward.
Overall, the waterfront is beautiful and most of the staff were helpful but the lack of cleanliness of the rooms and amenities will keep us from returning.
