East County gem. This is the 3rd time that I have stayed at Ayers Lodge, and it is truly a gem in East County. The rooms are clean (and now renovated,) the amenities are wonderful! (There is a sitting area outside, along with tables and chairs, a BBQ grill, as well as a fire pit. They have a great breakfast with a large selection, as well as chocolate chip cookies every night. The property is quiet and secluded despite being right by the freeway. There is a shuttle that will take you to and from Viejas Casino if you want to go there. This hotel is also close to several bars and restaurants. Definitely my go-to lodging when I come back home to visit.
