My friend and I were excited to stay at this 5-star hotel after reading so many good reviews, but our experience was extremely disappointing. We arrived at 12pm, were welcomed by the concierge, and were assured more than once that our room would be ready by 3pm with our bags sent up. I even highlighted that we had a 4pm meeting and was told that they would contact me if the room became available earlier. They confirmed that the had my number.
When we returned at 3.15pm, the room was still not ready, and there was no message informing us of any delay. The staff asked us to wait in the lobby with no indication of timing, and our bags were still sitting downstairs. After we voiced our frustration, a room was suddenly ready within seconds. The staff were whispering in front of us, which was quite unprofessional. Our bags took a while to arrive and we were nearly late for our meeting.
Across our 2-night stay, there was no service recovery, no apology, and no acknowledgement. It felt as if we weren't important maybe simply because we book the most basic room? We asked to speak to the manager at checkout, but she was away. She only approached us when we were waiting for our Uber to the airport. Far too late.
It is no doubt a beautiful hotel but the service is really far from 5-star standards.
