We only had a one night stop over but the staff were very helpful and friendly, room was spotless, lovely setting , food was mostly great ( bacon for breakfast was a bit overdone but everything else was good) . Evening meal was very good. Would stay here again .

Hotel has a lovely location right on the river and ideal for accessing Hadrian’s wall. Staff were very friendly. We had dinner and breakfast which was good especially after a full day of cycling.

Fantastic location on river bank. Staff very helpful and cheerful. Food simple but good. Room clean and tidy. Enjoyed stay.

The food is excellent i enjoyed breakfast and dinner. Room was very clean and the staff were all very helpful. Only one slight negative point...there was no shaver socket in the bathroom. Lovely location on the river and caught sight of some deer in the grounds early in the morning. I would definitely stay there again.

Very pleasant period hotel in a lovely location, ideally situated for exploring sites along Hadrian's Wall by car. For me, the only real downside was the coffee machine at breakfast had a limited range of choices (no americano!) and it 'gave up the ghost' completely on our last day without a replacement being available.

Such a beautiful hotel in an amazing location. Felt like luxury after a hard day hiking. Superbly helpful staff and a very comfortable room.

Very dated hotel, needs a full deep clean, the best part is the river round the back, but when its sunny it becomes a water park! Full of kids running around. Most guests weren’t staying at the hotel but just using the river for watersport.

The staff were friendly and the hotel is in a great spot if you want to take a dip in the river - you can do that directly from the hotel garden/outdoor seating area. Our room was clean and in a quiet part of the building. There is no air conditioning but a fan was provided, which helped. Would be happy to stay again.

I stayed here for one night while walking Hadrian's Wall with my son. The location is great with peaceful views of the river and bridge from the gardens and dining room. If I was doing the walk again, I would have a day's rest here. Our room was quiet and what you would expect from a midrange hotel. The place was obviously popular with walkers.

The hotel is in a lovely position at the side of a river and is handy for visiting Hadrian's Wall and the nearby towns of Hexham and Corbridge. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The food is excellent and not to be missed, especially the evening meals.

The bar area, restaurant all very good. Staff friendly and helpful. Situated on the river with amazing views from the dining room. Also the opportunity to sit outside in this beautiful setting. Very nice breakfast and evening meals. On the downside. The room we had was not very soundproof there was a wardrobe across a door which meant next doors tv was very loud. Our tv had a very tired handset. There is no lift so be prepared to do quite a bit of walking up and down stairs and corridors.

Lovely location and great beer garden. Beds were comfortable and clean. The main issue in the bedroom was the very low water pressure in the shower making it almost impossible to have a decent shower. The other issue was the slow service in the restaurant. It was busy when we first arrived so that was fair enough but even when it died down it was still very slow and we could see our drinks waiting at the bar but no one to bring them over until we asked. And breakfast again the service was slow, having to ask to be served on every occasion. Overall the hotel is good for the price with a lovely location and comfy beds so can’t complain too much but just a shame about the service.
