Firstly, having stayed at Marriott's all over the world for over 30 years, and having been part of the Marriott Vacation Club for years, this stay was incredibly disappointing.
Room - When we checked in to our room, there was a plate of stale cakes on the table with a Thank You card from the manager to another guest. Begs the question - was our room cleaned before we checked in? (I have taken pictures of this). There wasn't enough toilet paper provided and to request more took our call being transferred to 3 people to get this.
Parking - firstly if you are visitor for dinner - this is free, however if you are a PAYING guest and spend over £200 on food and drink, parking is not free for you.
Room Service - To order an ice bucket to our room, it took our call to be transferred to 3 people before we were able to order this and there was a £4.50 service fee for Ice!
NEVER have I been charged for Ice in a hotel.
The hotel is run down and the staff are as useful as a chocolate teapot.
Surprising, considering that there are so many hotels along the airport at the same price point - you would expect healthy competition would improve standards, but at this Marriott it is the converse.
Having stayed at 10+hotels near Heathrow - this has to be the worst one.
